James MONROE PRINDLE



October 13, 1897 - December 26, 1944






James enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and was discharged a year later. However, he was still employed by the government stationed at Pearl Harbor and was killed in the Christmas Day attack. He was 47 years old. His remains were originally buried at Halama Naval Cemetery in Oahu, Hawaii, but were returned to the area in 1947.

Full military rite will be conducted Tuesday at 2 o'clock from James Prindle, 50, who died in Pearl Harbor Christmas Day, 1944, at the Carlson Funeral Home in Brockway. Rev. T.H. Johnson will officiate and burial will be made in the Beechtree Cemetery. Mr. Prindle unlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and was discharged one year later. He later was employed by the government, bing located in Pearl Harbor, where his death ensued nine months later. The deceased was a resident of Brockway R.D. 2. Surviving are six brothers, Ronald, Leonard and Lex of Nanty Glo; Clarence and Lawrence of Erie; Russell of Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Fiddler of Brockway.
